D-Link adds to smarthome ecosystem

Adds AI capabilities for operator’s CCAPS

Taiwan’s D-Link has launched a new 5G/LTE Outdoor CPE – DWP-1010 – which delivers Gigabit speeds with maximum redundancy, provides easy access for multiple users, and enables a large number of devices to be connected. While the DWP-1010 is designed to bring 5G connectivity to the home or the workplace, its upcoming AI Series includes a router, mesh router and extender which uses AI to recognise and combat connection problems and optimise performance. D-Link’s latest mydlink smart home cameras also leverage AI to provide high-accuracy surveillance and protection for the home. And its Wi-Fi 6 USB Adapter enables users to quickly and easily upgrade their desktop and notebook computers to the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology for greater network data rates, capacity and performance even in dense, congested environments.

D-Link is based in Taiwan but now has over 2,000 employees spread across 60 countries. It implements and supports unified network solutions that integrate capabilities in switching, wireless, broadband, IP surveillance and cloud-based network management.

D-Link is a contributor to the CCAPS market in the assured performance sector, with an expertise in CPE and cloud-based household network management. The ability to connect anywhere, ensure the QoS required to enjoy an application as expected, and manage the requirements of very different connected devices and applications, is paramount in the hybrid B2C-B2B household experience. Adding AI capabilities in order to more smartly and dynamically manage often conflicting connnectivity requirements of multiple devices and applications in the home – thereby reducing customer frustration and enhancing experience – is an essential next step beyond static, rule-based home network management.
