Allot has announced that an existing tier 1 mobile operator customer in APAC has chosen to protect its 5G network against DDoS and botnet attacks with Allot’s 5G NetProtect solution.
The cloud native Allot 5G NetProtect solution employs a multi-layer threat prevention strategy to detect and block evasive DDoS and botnet attacks that are initiated from within and outside the network. The solution employs machine learning artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically detect and block zero-day attacks and is built upon an inline network intelligence engine with ultra-low latency and high levels of scalability.
“We’re very proud that this mobile operator has put their trust in Allot to protect their 5G network from both external and internal attacks. We expect that as 5G networks are deployed and grow, the need for securing the network itself will become a growth opportunity for Allot,” commented Oren Coral, Vice President of Sales, APAC for Allot.”

Although Allot hasn’t named the operator in question, this is by no means the first win for Allot’s cybersecurity and CCAPS portfolio in APAC. In October 2020 an equally unnamed APAC operator adopted Allot’s HomeSecure.
