Overview of Optiva
Optiva was founded as Redknee Solutions in 1999 in Ontario Canada. The company expanded into Europe in 2000 and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2008.
The company acquired a number of other solution providers including Argent Networks (2007), Nimbus Systems (2010), the BSS division of NSN (2013) and Orga Systems (2015).
In 2017, ESW Capital took control of the company and replaced the CEO Lucas Skoczkowski with Danielle Royston from ESW Group. Redknee. The company began investing to make its products cloud native. In 2018, Redknee was rebranded as Optiva.
By 2019, its results had stabilised and the company had returned to profitability. In 2020, additional shareholder changes took place and the CEO resigned. A new CEO is due to be announced shortly.
Optiva offers a cloud-native BSS suite that supports customer care, product catalog, unified rating & charging, customer self-care, payments & voucher management, billing & collections, order handling, policy control, dealer care and wholesale settlement. It also offers the convergent Optiva Charging Engine providing real-time charging, policy management and experience solutions that are available on-premise, hybrid or in the public cloud.
Optiva’s customers include A1, BT, Claro, Cosmote, Digicel, Gamma, Kcell, KDDI, Life:), Ooredoo, Optus, Tele2, Telia, Telus, TIM, Turk Telekom, Vodacom, Vodafone Idea and Vodafone.
