Telefonica expands relationship with Allot

Small businesses are extremely vulnerable to cyberattacks and often lack in-house cybersecurity skills. Telefonica’s Conexión Segura (Secure Connection) SECaaS service, which leverages the Allot NetworkSecure solution, provides protection for SMEs against phishing, ransomware, malicious third-party sites and malware in both fixed and mobile networks, protecting business and employee devices wherever they’re connected.

Installed in the core of Telefónica’s network, it prevents users from accessing websites categorized as risky or inappropriate. Between March and April 2020, it proved its efficacy by preventing more than 1 million viruses and 168,000 pieces of malware from being downloaded, and blocking 1.2 million pages containing malicious or suspect content.

“Naturally, we’re thrilled that Telefónica España is growing their cybersecurity business so rapidly in the Spanish SMB market. The Allot network-based security as a service solution proves the importance for operators to provide secure broadband access to their business customers,” commented Francisco Cayuela Delgado, Vice President of Sales for Telefónica and LATAM at Allot.

Allot is a leading provider of network-based, mass-market cybersecurity solutions via its Allot Secure solution suite, which currently protects more than 23 million subscribers in Europe. Telefónica’s Allot-enabled Conexión Segura service has proved popular with SMEs leading to double-digit growth in 2020. The solution provides recurring revenues that are shared between Telefónica, McAfee and Allot.

In October 2020, Telefónica España expanded Conexión Segura to protect SMEs against a broader range of cyber threats. The expansion also includes the new version of McAfee MultiAccess, which includes privacy control capabilities for up to 10 devices.
