MTN has announced that is has selected Tecnotree to support digital transformation in MTN Benin, MTN eSwatini, MTN Zambia, MTN South Sudan and MTN Cote d’Ivoire. The five-year deal will see Tecnotree deploy its Digital BSS Suite 5 to accelerate MTN’s business growth in these five countries.
“Connecting the unconnected across Africa is a priority for us as part of our Ambition 2025 mission,” said Dirk Karl, Chief Procurement Officer at MTN Group. “Working together with like-minded partners to this end is key.” Charles Molapisi, CTIO at MTN Group added: “With Tecnotree’s cloud-native Digital BSS Suite 5, we aim to accelerate business growth with faster time-to-market, while continuing to deliver an immersive customer experience and superior digital operations.”
The project incorporates product software licensing, implementation and post transformation services to support MTN’s Ambition 2025 initiative. In addition, the multi-phase strategic transformation project will upgrade existing Tecnotree systems to the latest version of its Tecnotree Digital Suite, which comprises ten products focused on both B2B and B2C.
Padma Ravichander, CEO at Tecnotree, says her company was proud to continue its more than two decades relationship with MTN. “We’re thrilled to partner with MTN to help create a digitally connected Africa that will allow the continent’s people to benefit from the delivery of a bold digital world though enhanced coverage and connectivity,” she said.

MTN’s Ambition 2025 is built on five pillars – fintech solutions, digital services, enterprise services, network-as-a-service and API marketplace – signalling its wish to move beyond vanilla connectivity to provide wider support for digitalisation across both the B2C and B2B sectors. Key to unlocking the commercial value of this strategy is its ability to create innovative pricing and packaging offers to make both basic and value added services affordable and appealing to the maximum number of customers. For a dominant player like MTN to partner with Tecnotree in such a critical role across not one but multiple countries of operation is a big vote of confidence in the ongoing relationship between the two companies. It should be noted that this announcement comes hard on the heels of a previously announced win for Tecnotree at MTN Ghana (February 2021).
