Belgian operator Telenet has deployed Netcracker’s Online Charging System (OCS), part of Netcracker’s Digital BSS solution, a milestone in its wider digital transformation. Its aim is to consolidate all its acquired brands onto Netcracker’s Digital BSS platform, which will support all fixed line (including internet, fixed telephony and digital TV) and mobile services. The OCS deployment will support current 4G online and offline charging, as well as position Telenet for 5G converged charging (CCS).
Telenet is seeking to improve time-to-market, reduce costs and create an omnichannel experience for its customers by consolidating and renewing its current disparate systems. Micha Berger, CTIO at Telenet admits that the project has been challenging but notes that Netcracker has smoothed the way. “Netcracker’s converged BSS stack, including OCS, has given us the flexibility and capabilities to support our customers with an optimized digital experience,” he notes.
Mitat Kizilelma, VP of Strategic Accounts at Netcracker, said his company was “thrilled” to be assisting Telenet with its transformation. “We look forward to future collaboration to help Telenet migrate customers onto the converged platform and gain additional features and enhancements,” he said.
