T-Mobile Czech Republic and Slovak Telekom both deploy Mavenir tech

Company says it will simplify networks and help reduce costs while enhancing customer experience

Mavenir has announced that it has successfully deployed its cloud-native, converged IMS solution for both T-Mobile Czech Republic (TMCZ) and Slovak Telekom (ST). Mavenir is helping its operator customers evolve their networks to cloud-native software that uses industry-standard commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware. The solution is designed to provide network simplification and deliver significant cost savings for both operators.
Announcing the implementations, Pardeep Kohli, President and CEO of Mavenir said: “We’re excited to help our customers achieve maximum efficiency in operational expenses, while providing features and services that will delight their subscribers.”
TMCZ has moved its multi-million VoLTE subscribers (prepaid, postpaid, VoWiFi and fixed) to an NFV-based, software infrastructure solution, while continuing to support the same features and functions. TMCZ is an existing Mavenir customer for VoLTE, IMS, and converged fixed and mobile TAS.
Meanwhile, Slovak Telekom has moved to the same solution, but is replacing a legacy vendor’s proprietary IMS implementation with an open NFV-based solution. It recently started migrating its VoLTE subscribers from legacy IMS, adding new VoLTE subscribers and migrating its fixed subscribers.
The two companies intend to leverage shared data centres across two countries to improve operational effectiveness and reduce complexity in their networks.
“The convergent Mavenir IMS Voice solution perfectly fits our demand and serves our future technology and cost reduction strategy,” commented Branimir Maric, CTIO at T-Mobile CZ and Slovak Telekom.
