Vivo selects Ericsson for charging

Extends charging relationship for 6 years

Telefônica Brazil has signed a new six-year agreement with Ericsson to use its charging solution to support Vivo’s 100 million customers for prepaid, postpaid and hybrid consumer and enterprise charging requirements.

Explaining the decision, André Kriger, Chief Information Officer, Vivo said: “We want to drive the digital transformation in Brazil by giving our customers the best experience. We chose the Ericsson Charging solution because of its advanced technology and ability to support us in accelerating time to market for new products and services, delivering optimized operational costs, and improving our overall customer experience with real-time information.”

Ericsson Charging will replace or be consolidated with legacy business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) charging platforms. The agreement builds on Vivo’s long-term relationship with Ericsson which saw it select Ericsson to be its BSS provider back in 2012.
