Segra turns to Netcracker for OSS transformation

US fibre provider overhauls OSS

Segra announced that it is partnering with Netcracker to renew and consolidate its OSS. Segra is one of the largest independent fibre providers in the US, with a 30,000 mile network that extends through nine states. It provides Ethernet, MPLS, dark fibre, data centre services, IP and managed services, voice and cloud solutions to customers that include other carriers, enterprises, governments, higher education and healthcare providers. This OSS transformation deal will allow Segra to streamline operational processes such as device configuration, fibre cable design, network discovery, order fulfillment and circuit design.

Bruce Dyke, CIO, Segra

“Segra is a rapidly growing service provider, and we made the strategic decision to select Netcracker as the platform of the future for our network operations, which are so critical to the success of our business.”

Netcracker will deploy its Digital OSS, including Active Resource Inventory, Discovery & Reconciliation, Planning & Design and Outside Plant, consolidating and replacing legacy OSS to create a single platform for Segra’s network data. In addition, Netcracker will provide a range of professional services to support the programme, including data migration, solution implementation and post-production support.

Rohit Aggarwal, GM Netcracker

Rohit Aggarwal, GM at Netcracker, says Segra will benefit from future-proof technology as well as a flexible platform that allows for technology enhancements and growth. “It’s very exciting to embark on a brand new partnership with Segra and to make a positive impact on their operations and business processes,” he commented. “We look forward to working with Segra for many years to come.”
